Is it mandatory for all mixer taps to be fitted with mini isolation valves? Our new house (circa 2010) does not appear to have any installed? Simon - Clarence Gardens

Hi Simon,

Fantastic question.

There is no specific reference in the Austrian Standards that suggests mini isolations need to be installed.

However...

When not in contradiction of the Australian Standards as plumbers we should refer to the manufacturers recommendations. Most  manufactures recommend isolation valves are installed.

Refer this link for example:

See installation instructions important point 2.

It is common practice in our business to install these isolation valves as they are recommended by the manufacturer.

  3. In fact, there are a variety of “ waterfall taps”, they are in many different designs, without exception, is the same as the water just poured out. It can be divided into washbasin, bathtub, shower and so on types of models, plus a touch of electonic switches, can control the temperature and the amount of water. Lightly touch, light and water is pouring down from the tap in the form of a waterfall. Elegant and gorgeous. Almost had a huge change in the high-tech and creative sense to bring human life. It is really looking forward to use the http://www.cheaptap.co.uk/waterfall-taps-c-36.html.
